About the Course
Observation lies at the heart of the work of the Montessori guide. It is through careful observation that we come to know each child, evaluate the effectiveness of the prepared environment, and determine how best to support individual development.
This two-day refresher course revisits observation as both a scientific discipline and spiritual preparation of the adult. Grounded in Dr. Montessori’s writings and principles, participants will refine their ability to observe objectively, recognize developmental tendencies, identify signs of normalization, and use observation to guide pedagogical and environmental decisions.
Through lectures, discussion, and observation exercises participants will deepen their capacity to “follow the child” with renewed clarity and humility.

Open To
We welcome all AMI 3-6 Diploma holders to join us! As the discussions and practical applications will build directly upon your initial AMI training, the diploma is a prerequisite for all participants. We look forward to connecting with our AMI colleagues and continuing the journey of discovery together. We will, as always, continue to offer all other Foundation for Montessori Education events for the wider community of Montessorians.

Lunch will be on your own on Saturday, February 6: If you would like to bring your lunch there is a refrigerator and a microwave that you can use. There are also a few restaurants within a 5 to15 minute walk on both Royal York Road and Lakeshore Blvd. W.
Lunch will be provided on Sunday, February 7: Be sure to indicate any dietary restrictions you may have when purchasing your ticket.
Beverages and snacks will be provided on the breaks both days.
