Course Overview
The Orientation Course is formerly known as the Assistants’ Course. The course was renamed by the AMI to better reflect the overall purpose of the course.
The Orientation Course is designed to provide participants with a functional understanding of the Montessori philosophy. It is well suited for any adult who is curious about Montessori education and the rationale that underpins the philosophy. Parents, caregivers and scholars of education/child development, along with adults who wish to be assistants in a Montessori classroom, are encouraged to take this course. All are welcome!
2024 Proposed Course Schedule
The course will be delivered both online and in person simultaneously. The course is scheduled daily from 9am to 3pm EST, from Monday August 12 to Friday August 23 excluding Saturday and Sunday.
Course Work
Course work consists of lectures, discussions and the submission of three written papers. An AMI Children’s House Orientation Course Certificate will be issued, based on 100% attendance. Students will arrange their own observation experience with approval from the trainer.
Course Fee
The course fee is $910.00 Canadian
The course will run with a minimum of 15 people. To ensure a place in this course, please submit the registration form and fees as soon as possible.
