Course Overview

The Orientation Course is formerly known as the Assistants’ Course. The course was renamed by the AMI to better reflect the overall purpose of the course.

The Orientation Course is designed to provide participants with a functional understanding of the Montessori philosophy. It is well suited for any adult who is curious about Montessori education and the rationale that underpins the philosophy. Parents, caregivers and scholars of education/child development, along with adults who wish to be assistants in a Montessori classroom, are encouraged to take this course. All are welcome!

2023 Course Schedule

FME is excited to host the 2023 Orientation Course virtually.

The 2023 AMI 3-6 Orientation Course will take place virtually on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from August 14 to 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET.

Course Work

Course work consists of lectures, discussions and the submission of three written papers. An AMI Children’s House Orientation Course Certificate will be issued, based on 100% attendance.


Course Fee

The course fee is $910.00 CAD.

The course will run with a minimum of 15 people. To ensure a place in this course,  please submit the registration form and fees as soon as possible.
